GENERAL QUESTIONS

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR CAMP?

You can select any of the enroll now links to register for camp.

WHAT ARE THE CAMP HOURS?

The camp regular hours are from 9:00am to 3:00pm. You may register for extended day hours which are 7:30am to 6:00pm.

WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD BRING TO CAMP?

Each camper should bring:

  • PEANUT- FREE lunch, snacks and drinks each day.
  • Water bottle
  • Backpack
  • Swim gear, towel
  • Sunscreen
  • Water shoes not required. but recommended
  • Close toe shoes is advisable. All of your children belongings should be labeled.

Electronic devices are not permitted at camp and will be confiscated until picked up by a parent. 

CAN MY CHILD BRING A CELL PHONE TO CAMP?

We have a “no-cell phone” policy at KidsRock Summer Camp.

WHEN WILL MY CHILD RECIVE THIER CAMP T - SHIRT?

Campers receive their camp shirt on their first trip day at camp.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CHILDS FORGETS THEIR CAMP SHIRT?

If a camper comes to camp on a trip day without their camp shirt, parents will be charged $20 Camp T-Shirt fee for a replacement.

I WANT TO REGISTER BUT MY CHILD WILL NOT BE FOUR UNTIL THIS SUMMER?

If your child is only 3 years old at this time and will not be four until this summer, we will accept their registration as long as they will be four years old by July 15th.

CAN FRIENDS AND SIBLINGS BE PLACED IN THE SAME GROUP?

If you wish your child to be placed with friends or siblings please let us know in advance on the online registration form. We can accommodate this request as long as they are going into the same grade group.

WHAT IS YOUR CAMP RATIO?

Our staff to camper ratio is 1:10.

HOW DO YOU KEEP CHILDREN SAFE IN THE WATER?

Water Safety
On all water related field trips KidsRock staff follows the KidsRock Watcher on Duty System (WOD).

  • Counselors are stationed both inside and outside of the water.
  • Counselors create a perimeter around our campers to ensure safe swimming.
  • KidsRock only attends lifeguard equipped pools and water parks.
  • MINI CAMP Campers (pre k – 1st grade) swim in shallow areas of the water.
  • JUNIOR CAMP Campers (2nd 3rd) swim in 3 ½ feet of water.
  • SENIOR CAMP Campers (4th – 5th | 6th – 8th) swim in 3 ½ feet of water.
  • SENIOR CAMP Campers must take and pass a swim test to swim anywhere in the pool with a KidsRock staff.

Camp Shirts 

All Campers are required to wear cool bright KidsRock branded water resistance rash-guard camp shirts.

Staff Camp Shirts

KidsRock Staff also wear bright KidsRock branded  water resistance rash-guard shirts. This allows for our campers to identify our staff clearly.so campers can easily identify KidsRock Staff.

HOW ARE CHILDREN TRANSPORTED AT CAMP?

Campers travel in an luxury coach bus equipped with every thing to keep your child comfortable and safe on each trip. We partner with Academy Bus to offer an relaxing travel experience complete with an certified Academy Bus Chauffeur, individual reclining seats, seat belt equip seating, on-board restroom, air–conditioning, movies and tablets.  to maximize comfort, fun and safety.

HOW DO YOU KEEP CHILDREN SAFE ON TRIPS?

TRIP SAFETY

Before the Trip

  • Campers wear a KidsRock camp shirt (easy identification).
  • Campers wear a KidsRock color-coded identification wristband.
  • Staff record attendance prior to the beginning of each trip.
  • Staff review safety rules and trip agenda. 

During the Trip

  • Group Trip or Station Trip Procedures
  • Group Trips: Campers navigate the trip as a group with their counselor.
  • Station Trips: Counselor are stationed in designated play zones that children can explore and play in.
  • Staff review safety rules and trip agenda.
  • Staff record attendance during the trip.

We encourage parents to leverage this resource to stay informed on all the fun experiences your child will have over the summer with KidsRock! We return back to camp by 4:45pm on all Fields Trips Days.

HOW DOES KIDSROCK HANDLE THE SUMMER HEAT?

Campers should remember to bring their own water bottles and to fill up throughout the day. Majority of our outdoor activities are schedule  in the morning when it’s cooler. and will take advantage of shaded areas throughout the day.

WHAT IS KIDSROCK SUNSCREEN POLICY?

Safety measures include:

We are a licensed youth camp in the state of Maryland. As a result we can not apply sunscreen but will encourage your child to use sunscreen.

Additionally please administer sunscreen prior to dropping off your camper.

WHAT IS YOUR GENERAL SAFETY POLICIES?

Safety is a major component at KidsRock Summer Camps. All of our campers are supervised 100% of the time. At camp we have an number of staff that are trained in CPR and First Aid. All staff have access to first aid kits, two way radios for communication and have weekly staff meetings to discuss the weekly agenda.

In addition all staff go through safety policies and procedure training. All of our staff must pass state and federal background checks.

HOW DO YOU TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES?

Employees receive a hands on in-person training before the camp season begins.

The training includes KidsRock Camp Staff Training Orientation Packet, where we  provide frontline staff with foundational knowledge in the areas of safety, trip policies and procedures, communication, leadership, creating community, reducing injuries and illness, bullying prevention,  risk/group management, and recognizing and reporting child abuse.

Counselor also receive ongoing growth and development sessions through out the summer during scheduled all hands staff meetings.

ARE KIDSROCK DAY CAMPS APPROPRIEATE FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS?

KidsRock Staff are trained to handle special circumstances to a limited extent. We have found that if children are able to function without an aide at school, they generally do very well at camp.

If your child does require an aide at school, you must ensure that an aide accompanies your child to camp.

All aids must be at least 21 years of age, trained professional trained to support your child and not related to the camper.

Over the years we have had many children with special needs and they usually do very well. However, if for some reason it is determined that camp is not a suitable  for your child, the total tuition for camp is non-refundable per our cancellation policy.
