MEDICATIONS

Medication Form  

In the event that your child/children will have to take medication or use an emergency device i.e. Epi-pen or inhaler during KidsRock Camp hours you will have to complete a medication form. Campers are not allowed to keep ANY medication with them. Medication must be in its original container and must be marked with the prescription label brought to camp will be stored and self administered accompanied by a staff member. The medication form must be signed by the doctor and the parent. In addition parents should sign the *Self carry/self administration of emergency medication authorization/approval section.

Please bring all medications to a camp director on your first day.

 

FOOD ALLERGIES/PEANUT FREE CAMP

If your child has a food related allergy, please be sure to list this in his/her registration. We do our very best to provide alternative food options for campers with allergies. We are also proud to be a Peanut Free Camp! To help us keep all our campers safe, please do not pack any meals or snacks that contain or are made with peanuts.

CAMP GROUPS

Campers are divided into small groups that make up our Mini, Junior and Senior Camps. Camps are assigned to their own areas on campus which allow for separation and campers to explore and enjoy camp with their peers. Mini, Junior and Senior Camps attend the same field trips, however navigate trips within their own camp groups.

Children are placed into small groups of 5 – 15 campers of the same general rising grade. One counselor is assigned to a group of 10 campers or lower. Two counselors are assigned to groups of 11 – 15 campers.

  • PINK GROUP PRE – K – 1ST GRADE 2 STAFF | 15 CAMPERS

JUNIOR CAMP

  • BLUE GROUP 2ND – 3RD GRADE
  • 2 STAFF | 15 CAMPERS

BEHAVIOR AND CODE OF CONDUCT

Campers are expected to follow directions the first time and refrain from physical contact, or the use of negative or inappropriate language/behavior with others. Campers are expected to use kind words, separate themselves or communicate to a counselor if she/he has a conflict with a fellow camper. KidsRock does NOT tolerate violence, negative and or hurtful words, language or negative behavior at camp.

Furthermore, we do not tolerate the stance regarding self defense to solve a conflict. If your child uses negative/hurtful words or is involved in physical contact with another person; whether they are the aggressor or not they Will receive consequences for their actions. Campers Will Be suspended or dismissed from camp if she/he uses violence and or hurtful words/language at camp. 

*No refunds are given if your child is suspended or dismissed from camp.

OUR APPROACH TO FOSTERING A SAFE CAMP ENVIRONMENT

Coaching and Modeling: We coach campers in ways to navigate conflicts and model positive behavior.

Communicate and Listen: We communicate and listen to all sides.

Positive Reinforce: We encourage and reward good behavior.

Engage: We provide tons of age appropriate activities, to keep our camper engaged all day long.

Adapt and Make Changes: We assess environments, groups and situations to understand triggers and to evaluate if a camper group or activity change is needed.

Communicate: We communicate with families regarding your child/children’s development at camp.

WATER SAFETY

On all water related field trips KidsRock staff follows the KidsRock Watcher on Duty System (WOD).

  • Counselors are stationed both inside and outside of the water.
  • Counselors create a perimeter around our campers to ensure safe swimming.
  • KidsRock only attends lifeguard equipped pools and water parks.
  • MINI CAMP Campers (pre k – 1st grade) swim in shallow areas of the water.
  • JUNIOR CAMP Campers (2nd 3rd) swim in 3 ½ feet of water.
  • SENIOR CAMP Campers (4th – 5th | 6th – 8th) swim in 3 ½ feet of water.
  • SENIOR CAMP Campers must take and pass a swim test to swim anywhere in the pool with a KidsRock staff.

Camp Shirts

All Campers are required to wear cool bright KidsRock branded water resistance rash-guard camp shirts.

Staff Camp Shirts

KidsRock Staff also wear bright KidsRock branded  water resistance rash-guard shirts. This allows for our campers to identify our staff clearly, so campers can easily identify KidsRock Staff.

TRIP SAFETY

Before the Trip

  • Campers wear a KidsRock camp shirt (easy identification).
  • Campers wear a KidsRock color-coded identification safety wristband.
  • Staff record attendance prior to the beginning of each trip.
  • Staff review safety rules and trip agenda.

During the Trip

  • Group Trip or Station Trip Procedures.
  • Group Trips: Campers navigate the trip as a group with their counselor.
  • Station Trips: Counselor are stationed in designated play zones that children can explore and play in.
  • Staff review safety rules and trip agenda.
  • Staff record attendance during the trip.

We return back to camp by 2:30pm on all Field Trips Days.

TRANSPORTATION

Campers travel in an luxury coach bus equipped with every thing to keep your child comfortable and safe on each trip. We partner with Academy Bus to offer a relaxing travel experience complete with a certified Academy Bus Chauffeur, individual reclining seats, seat belt equip seating, on-board restroom, air–conditioning, movies and tablets in order to maximize comfort, fun and safety.
